my choice would be Nikotemo and Griffin on the edges... A word on Nikotemo... He is still just 21 and playing with great maturity... Our left edge of Nikotemo (21) and Pratt (20) is both accomplished and has great potential... Scott gets my vote for the bench... Love Crofty but he is (for me) a quality squad player, as is Josh Rourke... Players you can really rely on but are unlikely to dominate a game... Although I think Rourke has real promise in this aspect of his game.

I'd still go Croft - something not right with Nikotemo, he seems to be holding back - I think he would possibly admit himself he hasn't hit his straps yet, and clearly Powell sees the potential but I think he's way off.  Crofty is like that reliable pair of slippers, job done, no frills.  

I think Nikotemo has great potential and we should really see him flourish after his first season in SL. 

As for Croft. He’s still only 24! Unvieveable. I think there’s a lot of growth in him yet as a player. 


I think he could potentially put his foot forward for a starting spot regularly over next few years but I agree he is a quality squad player. 


He’s worked hard on the gym and I noticed his leg drive and yards are starting to improve after contact too. His defence is very effective and not much is getting past him. If he keeps this level of growth up he could become a vital part of the squad in a few years when he hits his prime. 


One thing I have been impressed with is that he’s been consistently good. Doesn’t have any drop off in his performances this season. 


I like Scott at second row too but if it was a shoot out between the two I’ve been more impressed by Croft this season (so far). 


When Storton comes back I can see him going into second row where he was destructive early season. That will be a good headache to have! 


I really hope we have secured Croft for a few more years. Something I didn’t think much about at start of this season but he’s turned his game around. 


I can liken it to JJB at Leeds. I thought he was decent but nothing special then he had a cracking off season and came back bigger in great shape and his game improved massively. Every club needs players like Croft. And he’s a Trinity product. 

Crofty over Seth for me. 
Just love what Crofty is doing this season.

Croft is just one of those players you need.
Stand him next to someone like Tanginoa and most would laugh and pick Kelepi but Croft makes no mistakes and doesn't drop his effort areas for the whole game.


If you have a line breaker in the team you also need a Croft.

The most physically impactful pack we can pick IMO, if everyone was fit, is McMeeken, Hood, Uele, Storton, Vangana, Pitts. That said, everyone brings a quality of their own. Croft, Nikotimo, Griffin, Rodwell, Fa’atili, Cozza, Smith, Doyle and even Lingard are all proving their worth. 


It’s the best forward line up I can remember in my 50+ years at Trinity. 


Yes we’ve had some amazing forwards in that time, Burke, Ashurst, Kelly, Skerrett, Idle, Rayne twins, McCurrie, Fritz, Jackson but to have a line up like we do all at the same time is outstanding.
