I recall earlier on this season a thread about 'leaders' and the concern was expresed about our supposed lack of them. I wonder if people have changed their minds on this after the performancesat Saints, Hull and the Etihad in recent weeks?
To me every single one of the team, regardless of who is picked have shown themselves to be worthy of the shirt in recent weeks. The leadership of MMc has been there for all to see in Lockers absence. I for one questioned his choice as skipper at Cas after his tackle on Dixon, but I'm glad to say I was wrong.
Future leaders - how about Faz, MMc, Clubb, Bateman, Williams, Powell, Smith, Green -who steps up in every big game, hope he recovers soon and signs a new deal, Crosby, Taylor etc etc.
If we can keep hold of most of these players (and keep SW - give him an improved deal NOW) this really could be a golden age for Wigan rugby.
Can't argue against any on that list, but why not reinstate the "leadership team" as an entity too? It seemed to work under Madge & there's maybe a case to be made that it's only recently with SOL's extended absences (someone find the cotton-wool drawer please) that MM, Green & others have actually stepped up and started directing traffic.
Would a formal leadership team help prevent some of the sort of brain-fart plays we've seen so far this year?
The leadership still exists I believe.
I think it's something like Locky, Macca, Smith, Faz and Green
Difference is that Wane has Locky as captain when fit rather than switching it around.
Seems fine to me personally.
